Your account
Delete your LookForParty account
LookForParty is made by Giga-Green Technologies, Inc.. You can delete your account yourself at any time, in the app or on the web. If you can't sign in, email us and we'll do it for you.
In the Android or iPhone app
- Open LookForParty and sign in.
- Open Settings: tap Settings at the top of the HUD tab, or in the list on Explore.
- Under "Account and security", tap "Delete your account".
- Tap "Delete my account…", read what happens, then tap "Delete my account" again.
On the web
- Go to app.lookforparty.com and sign in.
- Open Settings from your account menu, then "Your data" (under "Account and security").
- Under "Delete my account", choose "Delete my account" and confirm.
You have 30 days to change your mind
Your account is frozen as soon as you ask: you can't use LookForParty, and your games stop showing to other people. For 30 days, signing in shows "Your account is scheduled for deletion" with a "Keep my account" button, which restores everything. You can also download a copy of your data then. After 30 days we delete it for good, and it can't be undone.
If you pay for Plus through Stripe on the web, we cancel it when your account is deleted. If you pay through Google Play or the App Store, cancel it there too (Google Play → Payments and subscriptions, or your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions): deleting your account doesn't stop their billing.
What we delete
- Your sign-in: email address, password, passkeys, two-factor and linked Google or Apple sign-in.
- Your profile: display name, pronouns, area, games, and your settings and preferences.
- Your friends, follows, blocks, groups (an owner's group passes to another member), Stash, decklists and card collection, free times, trades, loans and Game Lounge games.
- Your seats at future games, and the future games you were hosting (they're cancelled).
- Your messages: direct messages (for both people in the conversation), event, group, store and trade chat, and your notifications, phones and push settings.
- Any linked Discord account, and your ID check (we ask Persona to delete theirs once it's decided).
What we keep, and for how long
- A placeholder for past games. Games other people were at still show you as "Deleted user", with nothing else about you, so their history makes sense. It stays as long as those games do.
- Which Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted, and when. Kept as proof of consent, because the law can ask us for it.
- A parent's verified approval for a teen's account. Kept for 7 years after the account is deleted, as the children's privacy law expects.
- Safety records: reports, moderation decisions, and our staff and store activity logs (where you show as "Deleted user"). Messages someone shared with a report stay with that report. These are kept to keep people safe and to answer legal requests; there's no fixed end date yet.
- Accounts under a legal hold (for example, during a child safety investigation) aren't deleted until the hold ends.
- Payment records. Card details never reach us. Stripe, Apple and Google keep their own records of your payments under their own privacy policies and the law (for example, tax rules).
Content that belongs to a game store stays with the store: its listing, its events and replies written as the store. If you were a store's only owner, LookForParty support looks after the listing.
Teens and parents
Teens can delete their own account the same way. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete their teen's account: email info@lookforparty.com from the email address the teen gave us for you. If a parent never approves a new teen's account, we delete it and the parent's email address after 14 days without anyone asking. More for parents.
Can't sign in?
Email info@lookforparty.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm it's you by replying to that address, then delete it the same way, with the same 30 days to change your mind. We answer within 45 days, usually much sooner. Don't send a password.
